Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the healthcare system by powering smarter decision-making, tailoring treatments to individual needs, and enabling predictive diagnostics. This special issue aims to explore the latest advances where AI intersects with healthcare, focusing especially on innovations involving communication infrastructures, sensor networks, and embedded system designs. Key areas include machine learning approaches for medical diagnostics, AI-driven wireless sensor systems for real-time patient monitoring, intelligent routing strategies in delay-tolerant health networks, and secure healthcare data management within networks. The issue also tackles critical ethical dimensions—algorithmic fairness, system transparency, and safeguarding patient data privacy. This issue aims to drive forward responsible, scalable, and effective AI solutions for the future of healthcare systems.
